Perimitrax
is a covert perimeter intrusion detection sensor that generates an invisible electromagnetic field around buried sensor cables. When an intruder disturbs the field, an alarm is declared.  In the case of a network system, the alarm is instantly communicated over the sensor cables to a PC-based central control system.

  • Intelligent 4th generation ported coaxial sensor
  • Covert sensor with invisible volumetric detection field
  • Terrain-following
  • Continuous field of detection with over 99% Probability of Detection
  • Lowest vulnerability to defeat of any outdoor sensor.
1. When should I use Perimitrax?
Perimitrax is a high security sensor that is very difficult to defeat since the location is hidden and the detection field is completely invisible. Because of cost, it is most often used in high security sites where there is a clear zone or sterile zone. Since the detection field is quite large, the sterile zone should be at least 5m (16 ft.) wide. Perimitrax is very popular in VIP estates because it does not affect the beauty of the landscaping and the sensor is terrain following; in airport applications along flight lines because it does not stick up and impede aircraft movement; and in other high security sites where a covert sensor is desired.

2. Should I use the single sensor cable or the separate transmit and receive cables?
The cost of the sensor cable is the same in both configurations. Installation costs can be reduced by about 33% when using the single cable because only one trench is required. However, the width of the detection field can be increased to provide more coverage if two separate sensor cables are used and buried 2m (6.6 ft.) apart

3. How deep is the cable buried?
The cable is buried 22cm (9 in.) in soil and 6cm (2.5 in.) in asphalt and concrete.

4. Can I repair the cable?
A cable can be spliced up to six times in a zone without affecting performance

5. Can I use other sensors with Perimitrax?
Perimitrax can be used in conjunction with other outdoor sensors, e.g. Intelli-Wave or Intelli-Field, to provide detection fields containing maximum width and height.

6. Will small animals such as dogs and cats cause nuisance alarms on Perimitrax?
Perimitrax is designed to always detect people with a mass of 34kg (75lbs) or greater while always rejecting animals with a mass of 10kg (22lbs) or less. The sensitivity can be adjusted up or down depending on the threat. Most animals can be adjusted out of the detection range while still maintaining perfect detection for people.

7. Does lightning affect the performance of the system?
All connections to the electronics are protected with transorbs and gas discharge lightning suppression. Since the sensor cables are buried underground, much of the electrical discharge from a nearby lightning strike dissipates before reaching the sensor cables. A second optional gas discharge lightning suppressor can be installed on the sensor cables outside the electronic housing to increase the protection in areas of extremely high lightning activity.

8. Can I upgrade my Sentrax system to Perimitrax?
Older Sentrax systems can be upgraded in two ways. The newly designed sensor cable for Perimitrax can be used with the oPerimitrax Buried Cable Intrusion Detection Sensorlder Sentrax electronics with a few constraints. The 'N' connections used on the previous Sentrax TMs must use adapters to connect to the 'TNC' size Perimitrax cable. The distribution of power over the Perimitrax cable is not as efficient as the older and larger diameter Sentrax cable. Otherwise, the new cable works with the Sentrax TMs. Please contact Senstar-Stellar Corp. Customer Service for advice on your system. The Perimitrax Sensor Modules are not backward compatible with Sentrax TMs. They will, however, work with the Sentrax cable using adapters to change the connector size. For upgrade purposes, the Sentrax cable can be kept and the Sentrax electronics changed to Perimitrax Sensor Modules, if all the TMs are changed to Perimitrax at the same time.
