1. When should I use Intelli-Wave? Intelli-Wave
is a bi-static volumetric microwave sensor that can be used in
high security applications if the terrain and environment are
suitable. Intelli-Wave uses a separate transmitter and receiver
and is installed inside of a physical barrier, such as a fence or
wall. Microwave sensors require large sterile zones that are flat
and free from any moving objects including moving or blowing
vegetation. Since the detection field is quite large, the sensor
is difficult to avoid or defeat. Because of their modest cost,
microwaves are frequently used for short zones at gates in place
of a higher cost sensor.
2. Can I use Intelli-Wave together with Perimitrax to achieve a
higher detection zone?
Yes! A number of clients have used this concept in high security
applications to increase the height of the detection zone. The
Intelli-Wave and Perimitrax systems are compatible with one
another and will work in a co-located configuration. The height of
the detection zone can be increased to about 3m (10 ft.) and the
microwave sensors are not as sensitive to ground variations.
